BASEL, SWITZERLAND – JUNE 19: Luiz Felipe Scolari coach of Portugal looks on during the UEFA EURO 2008 Quarter Final match between Portugal and Germany at St. Jakob-Park on June 19, 2008 in Basel, Switzerland.

Rio de Janeiro, Nov 18 – Brazil’s 2002 World Cup?winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is reportedly being pursued by Brazilian top?flight club Atletico Mineiro.

The Belo Horizonte outfit is yet to renew the contract of coach Cuca and officials have kept their options open about making an offer to Scolari, reports Xinhua.

“Good luck to Scolari if he comes. He will have everything in place for him,” Cuca said. “But you must ask the president of the club if he is happy with me or not.

“I have done everything I have been asked. If the club thinks it can find somebody better then there will be no problem, I will walk away.”

Scolari, who has also had coaching stints with Portugal and Chelsea, was sacked by Brazil’s Palmeiras in September after a poor run of results.

The 63?year?old has stated that he wants to return to coaching as soon as possible before ending his career after the 2014 World Cup.
