#3 Samuel Umtiti

Samuel Umtiti began his Barcelona career like a house on fire and after he played a starring role in France's World Cup triumph in 2018, many tipped him for greatness at the heart of the Blaugrana defence.

However, injuries have been unkind to the 26-year-old and persistent knee troubles saw him spend over five months on the treatment table last term, missing 27 games in the process.

This season has not seen him fare any better and even though the campaign is barely one-third of the way in, Umtiti has already suffered two injuries that has seen him miss 10 of Barcelona's 19 games in all competitions.

On his day, the French international is still one of the premier defenders in the world and he once again showcased his abilities in the game against Dortmund.

Partnering Clement Lenglet for what was only his fourth start of the season, Samuel Umtiti made a strong case to be integrated back into the starting 11, and put up a good display on a night when Gerard Pique was missing from the matchday squad due to a suspension.

The former Lyon man completed a game-high 93.9% pass accuracy and played a key role in keeping a normally buoyant Dortmund attack quiet for most of the night with his brilliant positioning and sense of awareness.
