Barcelona President insists Lionel Messi is happy at the Nou Camp

Is Lionel Messi unsure about his Barcelona future?

According to FC Barcelona President, Josep Bartomeu, the club’s ongoing turmoil has not affected Lionel Messi’s urge to play football for the Catalans. He went on to reaffirm that the Argentine is very happy at the club and that there is no division in the dressing room.

Messi’s latest denial on an unhappy squad came moments, after the FIFA Ballon d’Or awards. However, the Argentine’s statement created more speculation of him leaving as he said that he really ‘does not want to leave Barcelona’.

The 27-year old’s team-mate at the Nou Camp, Sergio Busquets went on to say that the club needs Messi to stay. But, Bartomeu was adamant of Messi’s willingness to help the club through it’s difficult times.

He said, “You can see Messi's happiness out on the pitch. You can see it in the level of his performance at the moment, in his smile; we are calm because Leo is good", the club chief told beIN Sports."There's no bad relationship in the Blaugrana dressing room at all. There are always things going on in a team, but the relationship is good and there's a good atmosphere. I see them first hand and there is great unity."
