Video: Barcelona release tribute for Pedro following Chelsea move

Pedro left Barcelona for Chelsea after a decade-long career

FC Barcelona released a farewell video for Pedro on their official Youtube channel after the winger completed his move to Chelsea. The 28-year-old will move to Stamford Bridge after the Catalan club accepted a £22m bid from the Blues, bringing a highly successful career at the Camp Nou to an end.

The Pedro tribute honoured his significant contribution to the club ever since he represented the Barcelona C team in 2005. The Spaniard was promoted to the first-team by Pep Guardiola in 2009-10 after impressive performances for Barcelona B, and he vindicated the manager’s selection by becoming the first person to score in six different club competitions during a single season and in the same year as his incredible Barcelona side won the sextuple.

A right-footed player who is also comfortable with his left, Pedro can play on either flank or as a second striker. His excellent positioning and technique has seen him score 99 goals in 321 appearances for the Barcelona, winning 20 trophies during his time at the club.

He is also an experienced Spanish international, winning the World Cup in 2010 and the European Championship in 2012 with his national side.

Pedro expressed his excitement at the prospect of starting his new adventure in the English Premier League during an interview with Chelsea’s official website.

"I am very happy to be here.” he said. “I am very excited to start my adventure at Chelsea and I am here to keep winning titles.”

"Thanks to the club and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to put the blue shirt on." he added.
