Philippe Coutinho wants Mohamed Salah at Barcelona

The Egyptian is in sensational form this season with 29 goals in just 32 Premier League games and is one of the top 5 players in Europe this season. The 25-year old is ahead of the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the European Golden Shoe as well.

Now, Philippe Coutinho, who played with Salah for the first half of this season before joining Barcelona, has recommended the wing wizard to the Blaugrana hierarchy, as per Spanish news outlet, Don Balon.

The Brazilian is aware of Barcelona's interest to bring in another top attacker such as Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann but any deal for the Frenchman looks difficult at the moment.

Thus, Coutinho believes Salah is an apt alternative and is confident that the Egyptian will suit Ernesto Valverde's system. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be willing to let go of another prized asset to Barcelona, especially within six months of losing Coutinho.

On the other hand, Salah can improve any team in world football at the moment and the Blaugrana can definitely benefit if they can land him.

The Dutch starlet recently turned heads with his top performance for the national team against Portugal where he kept Cristiano Ronaldo quiet while picking up a couple of assists as well. Now, the defender has been on Barcelona's radar for quite some time now with the Blaugrana sending scouts regularly to watch the player, as per the Mirror.

The 18-year old has already made over 50 appearances for Ajax and has recently received the vote of confidence from his national captain, Virgil van Dijk, who said he could play for any team he wants.

Now, De Ligt was pictured in Barcelona recently along with teammate Justin Kluivert sparking further speculation.

However, the youngster came out to clarify the reason behind his visit and said:

"I know that people now think I'll go there for something more. I was on vacation with friends, I know that people now think that I will go there for something else, but I booked this vacation for some time.
"They (Ajax) gave me two days off and I used it to recharge the battery."

Thus, De Ligt might have actually been on holiday but his performances will ensure he is in demand this summer.

Barcelona line up Samuel Umtiti's replacement

Umtiti could leave the club in the summer

The Frenchman has been one of the top defenders in Europe in the past two seasons since he joined the Blaugrana in the summer of 2016. However, the contract talks with the defender to give him a pay-rise along with increasing his release clause from €60 million are at a standstill as per Spanish news outlet, Don Balon.

Umtiti is wanted by Jose Mourinho at Manchester United and his release clause makes him a steal in the current market. Hence, Barcelona board have already fixed on an alternative should the 24-year old leave the Camp Nou in the summer, as per the report.

The player is none other than Bundesliga side Schalke's Thilo Kehrer. The 21-year old has really shone in Germany this season and he has an affordable release clause of €35 million, which can easily be paid from Umtiti's sale.

While it is natural for the club to prepare for all contingencies, the Catalan outfit are still hopeful of retaining Umtiti, given his importance in Valverde's squad.
