The year was 2050, another season of scintillating football was beckoning. The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool , Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Chelsea were favorites to clinch the title .
Yes the red side of Manchester were unhappy with the proceedings but the rise of the blues planted a smile on the city of Manchester. Having won 21 titles in the last 38 years Manchester City were now as powerful as they could be, still aided and nursed by heavy investment by their filthy rich owners ( Well the FA fair play rule got scrapped in five years of its implementation).
Moving on to Chelsea, gone were the days when Roman the Russian Oligarch would invest in the team, to be fair on him Chelsea still had a title winning squad, now managed by their legend John Terry and assistant manager Fernando Torres under whom the Blues have won a record 11 champions League victories one more than Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ajax although the last time they won the league was 30 years ago thanks to late winner at the Britannia stadium courtesy the Belgian Wiz Lukaku !
Moving on to Arsenal, the return of Thierry Henry gave the the gunners an additional boost. Coming from a successful spell at Lille which saw them win 8 back to back league titles – all thanks to the wonderful tactics employed by the manager. The target was simple for Henry. It was to win the League. We all thought that during the post Wenger era Arsenal would play different type of football and invest heavy in tried and tested footballers but it was not to be. Past managers including David Beckham, Graeme Souness, Michael Ballack, Patrick Viera all employed the youth strategy now known as the Gunner way! With young prospects like Michael Llorda, Papa Nadal, Novak Larsson, Andy Maldini and the Swiss world cup winning captain Roger Dempsey in the squad, the future indeed looks nothing but bright for the Londoners!
AS the saying goes “As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end”. Liverpool the countries most prestigious / historic club is now finally moving in the right direction under the new owners Gerrard sports group who has promised the club to pump up the money required for the transfer. Rumors say that GSG are planing to move Liverpool from Stanely park into the new Kop Arena which is proposed to come up right next to Goodison park! The Kops are skeptical about this move because people are still mulling over the change of stadium the last time when they moved out of the historic Anfield in 2015.
People still flock in thousands here and its always special to see Kenny Dalglish still attending the matches here in his late ninety’s. The year being even more important as it was the last season of their new favorite Mr. Liverpool Sebastian Shelvy whose father Jonjo Shelvey also was a former red. Scoring 45 goals as a rock solid center -back the club was looking to give Shelvy junior the perfect send-off. Mersey side were no longer divided into blue/red after Everton got relegated under David Moyes in 2012 after which the Tofees have slipped into the 2nd division!
Liverpool would however try to avoid controversies this season as their last season were marred by numerous scandals/allegations including the fiasco which had Andy Carrols son Joey Carrol caught smuggling cocaine from Sunderlands manager Anton Ferdinand! But with the right players and Jamie Carragher as the manager this term sure can go a long long way.
Heavy weights Manchester united getting relegated came as a shock to many especially after winning the the treble the year before. Wayne Rooney was sacked and ‘Paul Ince’ was named as the new Manchester united manager!
Gone were the glory days of Manchester united with fans now not only from Manchester but across the world having taken city into their arms. The long lost years of the Busy babes, Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Alex seems far far off. With good players leaving the club, the manager Paul Ince has his work cut out. It wont be easy in the championship as Fulham, West Ham United, Portsmouth and Aston Villa building a good deep squad.
Long time supporter and former player Gary Neville was sacked by Sky Sports as a sports pundit for making a snide remark about Liverpool Fans on live TV!
According to the Nayam calender the world might end in 3012. In the mean time Will Manchester United bring their still noisy nieghbours Man City to its knees? Will Liverpool overhaul their bitter nemesis United 38 record premier league titles? Will Arsenal end their 54 years of trophy drought? Will Chelsea manager John Terry keep his hands off Torres Fiance?
All your questions will be answered after another 40 years from now.
