Barcelona Player Ratings against Bayern Munich

Barcelona were no match for Bayern Munich on the night.
Barcelona were no match for Bayern Munich on the night.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen - 5/10

The Barcelona goalkeeper was bailed out by Sergio Busquets for a sloppy pass early on. But he could do nothing about any of Bayern Munich's goals, but should have done better for Sane's strike.

Ronald Araujo - 5.5/10

Davies was all over Araujo, who simply couldn't compete with the Canadian's pace and movement.

Gerard Pique - 4/10

The veteran Barcelona star was hounded by Lewandowski all night. His time as a first-team regular seems to be up.

Clement Lenglet - 5/10

He stood still like a deer caught in the headlights when Muller leapt over him and scored Bayern's opener. He didn't fare much better after that either.

Jordi Alba - N/A

The Spaniard started the match despite nursing a knock. However, he paid the price for it, as he went off just half an hour after kick-off.

Gavi - 6/10

He ran all over the pitch like a headless chicken, but couldn't impact proceedings in a meaningful way.

Sergio Busquets - 5/10

The midfielder brought down Lewandowski in a desperate attempt to stop him after the Pole was fed by Ter Stegen. However, there was little else noteworthy about Busquets on his 650th Barcelona appearance.

Frenkie de Jong - 4.5/10

He was rolled over by Bayern Munich, and despite his best efforts, couldn't get a grip on the game.

Sergino Dest - 5/10

He played as a right winger on the night, which tells you Barcelona's lack of options. However, Dest didn't help their cause much either.

Memphis Depay - 5/10

The Dutchman lacked his usual flair, and struggled to cause any problems for Bayern Munich's defence.

Ousmane Dembele - 4/10

He blazed a good chance over the bar in the opening period, and then wasted a promising counterattack.

Ratings of Barcelona substitutes against Bayern Munich

Oscar Mingueza - 6.5/10

He gave the ball to Coman right after coming on, but improved after that. Mingueza made a nice block on Lewandowski, and also played a nice through-ball to Depay.

Nico Gonzalez - 5/10

Nothing special to write about his performance.

Riqui Puig - 5/10

The occasion was too overwhelming for the youngster.

Philippe Coutinho - N/A

There was no super-sub moment for the Brazilian against Bayern Munich, like he did in this fixture against his current team last year.

Yusuf Demir - N/A

The game was essentially done and dusted when he came on.
