A year back, at the Wembley Stadium in London, Arjen Robben scored in the 89th minute to give Bayern Munich a 2-1 win and secure the Champions League title. Fast forward one year and a similar incident took place, involving the same teams and the same player, with the venue being the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The goal deep into extra-time helped Bayern on their way to a 2-0 victory and helped them secure the DFB Pokal title, and a double for the season as well. Thomas Muller was the man who got one more before the final whistle.
Bayern’s instagram account posted a photo of the late goal that Robben scored with a bit of banter attached to it. The title of the post read “Déjà-vu? London, 1 year ago!?” referring to the incident above.
