Bayern Munich forward Xherdan Shaqiri has stated that he is flattered by the apparent interest shown in him from Liverpool.

Shaqiri has struggled to find a starting place in Bayern’s superstar team and has constantly been linked with a move away.

The Reds have been linked with the Swiss star and he could make the move away from Munich in the summer with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers looking to improve his squad ahead of a hopeful Champions League campaign.

He told Goal: “When you hear these names, of course you have to listen to the offer, but there is nothing concrete.

“I cannot say anything to this. I am feeling good in Munich but as a player you have to listen, if one of these top clubs is interested.

“I hear the interest from Borussia Monchengladbach for the first time. You have to ask Gladbach. I cannot say anything.”

Liverpool have also been linked with Roberto Firmino and Yevhen Konoplyanka so it seems which area of the squad.

Asked his thoughts on his favoured league in European football, Shaqiri insisted he remains happy in Germany but that the Premier League and Serie A would be of appeal.

He added: “Bundesliga is the best league for me, but I also like the Premier League and Serie A. In Serie A many teams have developed well with nice players.”

Shaqiri has played just 13 times in the Bundesliga this season, scoring five goals.
