#3 Croatia lacked the cutting edge in attack

While Croatia did well in midfield, their attack left a lot to be desired. Ante Rebic and Ivan Perisic worked their socks off on the wings, but Bruno Petkovic lacked sharpness as the focal point of the attack, indicating that Zlatko Dalic could have a massive problem in his hands.

The Dinamo Zagreb striker looked out of sorts and failed to get inside the box despite having a flurry of crosses being played towards him. He was replaced by Andrej Kramaric late in the game and the Hoffenheim striker could well be the one Dalic turns to for Croatia's Euro 2020 opener against England.

Vatreni have a lot of quality players amongst their ranks, but the absence of a top-class attacker of the ilk of Mario Mandzukic -- who led the line to devastating effect in the past -- could come back to haunt them in the games ahead.

#2 Yannick Carrasco is Belgium's utility man

Yannick Carrasco has quickly re-established himself as a top-class player since returning to Europe from China. The 27-year-old played a pivotal role for Atletico Madrid in the 2020-21 season, as Diego Simeone's side recaptured the La Liga title for the first time since 2014.

He kicked off from where he left off and produced an eye-catching display for Belgium, having started as a right-winger. As the game went on, Martinez made a handful of changes and Carrasco even played centrally, while he has also played as a wing-back in the past.

His versatility, work rate and tactical intelligence could allow Martinez to play him in a handful of positions and still get the best out of him.

#1 Eden Hazard makes long-awaited injury return

Eden Hazard made his first appearance for Belgium since the 6-1 victory against Cyprus in November 2019, as he got 10 minutes of football under his belt after successfully recovering from a torrid run of injuries. The Real Madrid winger is coming on the back of one of his worst seasons as a professional football, having spent a large part of the 2020-21 season on the treatment table.

Nevertheless, Hazard is one of the best players in world football when fully fit, so his return is a massive boost for Belgium. With De Bruyne set to return to training later this week, Martinez will breathe a huge sigh of relief, as he prepares to unleash two of his most talented players for Belgium's Euro 2020 opener against Russia.
