Benayoun treatment - a disgrace

Quite rightly, the attention in the aftermath from Anfield on Sunday focused on Luis Suarez and his disgusting behaviour. However, yesterday, some disturbing developments came to light involving Yossi Benayoun and it’s a disgrace, it really is!.

I am not the biggest Benayoun fan on the planet and of that there is no secret, as my mates will tell you, based purely on his footballing ability and his value to the Chelsea team. I questioned his signing at the time and still do it to this day.

Reading that there is a section of Chelsea supporters who continue to give him abuse from the stands he said:

“Disappointing result yesterday, always great to go back to Liverpool … really grateful for the warm reception from the fans as always.

The booing yesterday came from some small part of the Chelsea fans that doing it in the last few weeks since I did an interview about Torres. But I don’t really bothered about it … people need to understand what they read.

There is some other issues that the club is taking care and try to handle them in the right way … as sometimes people are crossing the limit. And I’m sure the club will sort it, what’s important for me is to do the best for the team till the end of the season. And try to finish at the top 3 and win the Europa league … and then look for my next challenge for next season.”

It’s one thing having a pop at a player’s performance or a manager’s decisions based on football. To take it further is disgusting no matter who you are, where you come from or the beliefs you have. I cannot believe that there is a section of supporters who would intentionally do this in games whenever they have seen him warming up or playing in a Chelsea shirt.

These people aren’t Chelsea fans. If you hear it from people standing near you please report it.

Carefree & KTBFFH!
