According to German daily Bild, the Olympiastadion in Berlin could host the 2015 Champions League final. If confirmed, this will be the second time in three years that the final of Europe’s elite competition will be held in Germany after the Allianz Arena in Munich hosted the 2012 final between home team Bayern Munchen and Chelsea FC.
The Giuseppe Meazza, commonly known as the San Siro is expected to host the 2016 final, with Lisbon’s Estadio da Luz getting to stage the final of the event in 2014. A deal however, will not be made official before March, but Wolfgang Niersbach was positive and stated: “We can have high and justified hopes that the Champions League final will come to Berlin.”
He went on to add: “Berlin is a great place for a final. I could almost say that a Berlin final would have more atmosphere than Wembley.”
This year’s Champions League final will be held at Wembley,England.
