Brazil international midfielder Bernard is close to signing a deal with English Premier League club Arsenal.

The Gunners and Brazilian outfit Atletico Mineiro have agreed to terms over the 20-year-old, who will fly to London for a medical Thursday, reports Xinhua.

However, recently, Arsene Wenger has denied reports of the move.

Speaking to reporters after a pre-season match against Nagoya Grampus, he said, “That report is not true.”

It is understood that Arsenal will pay 20 million pounds for the transfer while accepting Bernard’s four million pound-a-year wage demand, O Globo reported.

Bernard has won five international caps for Brazil and was a member of the Selecao’s triumphant Confederations Cup campaign last month.

He has also reportedly attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Chelsea.
