Bayern Munich Player Ratings

Leroy Sane came off the bench to score for Bayern Munich

Manuel Neuer - 7/10

Neuer made a couple of important saves to deny Reyna and Hazard, but Dortmund should have made him work a lot harder, given the positions they got into.

Bouna Sarr - 5/10

As an inexperienced man in his first Der Klassiker, Sarr made some mistakes that can be excused. He nearly gifted Dortmund a goal with a misplaced back-header, though, but was bailed out by Reyna rolling it into Neuer.

Jerome Boateng - 7/10

Boateng had a superb game for Bayern Munich at the back. With Dortmund playing the ball to the sides and putting crosses in, it was important for him to take charge and clear it away, and he did today.

David Alaba - 7/10

Alaba's pace was crucial in Bayern dealing with the threat of Haaland today. He also scored with a free-kick, albeit assisted by a deflection off Meunier.

Lucas Hernandez - 6/10

Hernandez had a good battle with Sancho, and came out on top with some robust defending. He also put in a peach of a cross for Lewandowski to score.

Joshua Kimmich - 6/10

Until he was on the pitch, Kimmich controlled possession for Bayern, and moved the ball at pace. His injury is a massive concern for Hansi Flick, and with the knee being affected, it could potentially be a long-term one too.

Leon Goretzka - 7/10

Goretzka had additional responsibility once Kimmich went off, and he fulfilled those. He curtailed his instincts, and didn't venture forward as much. He stayed deep and tracked the runs of Reus, Reyna and Sancho pretty well.

Kingsley Coman - 6/10

Coman hit the post with a rasping drive in the second half, and in general, had a good game. His touches were assured, he used his pace well, and dribbled superbly in tight areas.

Serge Gnabry - 6/10

Gnabry had one of his quieter games in a Bayern shirt today. His pace was always an outlet for Bayern, but he couldn't quite make it count in the final third.

Thomas Muller - 6/10

As usual, Muller's movement created space for the other attackers, but he wasn't as involved as he'd liked to have been in the decisive moments for Bayern.

Robert Lewandowski - 8/10

Lewandowski had the ball in the back of the net three times, but was twice denied, correctly, by VAR. His goal was superbly taken, with the movement to beat Hummels, and then the ability to place that header into the corner past Burki. He also set up Sane's goal with a nice through-ball.

Substitutes

Corentin Tolisso - 5/10

After Tolisso replaced Kimmich, Bayern lost some of their thrust and control in midfield. If Kimmich is ruled out for a lengthy period of time, the Frenchman will have to play much better than he did tonight.

Javi Martinez - 5/10

After replacing Boateng, he was guilty of being beaten too easily on the run by Haaland for the second Dortmund goal.

Leroy Sane - 7/10

Sane's burst of speed and precise finish for his goal were excellent. With Dortmund chasing the game, he was also a superb outlet on the break for Bayern.
