AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato and Santos midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso have been included in Brazil’s squad for next month’s Copa America despite injury concerns.
Pato, who is recovering from a shoulder injury and Ganso, who has been nursing a muscle ailment have been named in the 22 player list announced by coach Mano Menezes.
“I’m taking into consideration the potential of these players. I’ve said before that Ganso is the more complete player for the position to organize the team the way I want, and there will be a lot of time for him to get ready and play well,” said Menezes.
Fred, a member of Brazil’s 2006 World Cup team has also been named in the squad. “It feels great to be back in the team for an important competition like the Copa America,” said Fred.
Brazil have been the winners of this competition for the past two years.
