Brazilian wonderkid Nathan completes move to Chelsea from Atletico Paranaense

Nathan has become Chelsea’s first summer signing of the 2015-16 season

19-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder Nathan has become Jose Mourinho’s first signing of the summer. The Brazilian U-20 international, who is moving from Atletico Paranaense, is rumoured to have cost the Premier League champions around €7 million.

After penning terms with the Blues following his medical on Monday, Nathan wrote on his Instagram account, “A dream is coming true! First of all I want to thank God for always lighting my way, my dad who always believed in my talent and was a real warrior while helping me to reach my goals, my family and friends who always supported me.”

He continued by saying, “I am also thankful to Club Atletico Paranaense, which was part of this journey and where I played for 6 years of my career. Thank you, Chelsea, for trusting in me, I will do my best to support my team on reaching new achievements. We are all blue.”

Although the deal hasn’t been confirmed by the club yet, his arrival at Cobham indicated the same, and the Instagram post he shared sort of confirmed the same.

The Brazilian, however, will be able to wear the Chelsea shirt jersey after receiving his work permit. Apart from being Chelsea’s first signing of the summer, Nathan will join countrymen Filipe Luis, Oscar, Willian and Ramires, and added to an existing strong Brazilian contingent.
