How long will it be before we see these two playing in the same team?

Football’s most talked about player, Brazil wonderkid Neymar, has said he would love to play alongside Lionel Messi only if he shifts to Santos.

A lot of speculation is rife about Neymar’s future, who is already a global superstar despite having never played outside Brazil. Every major club in the world, including the usual suspects Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona, is vying for his signature, but the Brazilian forward has stated that he has no plans of moving to Europe yet.

A few days ago, Neymar said he would love to play alongside Messi, but modified that today, jokingly stating that would be possible only if Messi moved to Santos, clearly indicating he is not interested in a move as of now.

The 20-year-old has recently signed a contract extension which will keep him in Santos till 2014. He has been linked strongly with Barcelona for a while now, with reports suggesting Barcelona are waiting for his release clause price to lower. Neymar is valued at close to 50 million euros presently, and if insider news is to be believed, Barcelona will make a bid for him next season and will hope to pay around 30 to 35 million euros to bring him to Nou Camp.

It remains to be seen how much longer the Brazilian will able to resist the lure of playing in Europe.
