Cesc Fabregas admits Chelsea's results do not do justice to efforts on the pitch

Cesc Fabregas is on a poor run of form for Chelsea this season

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has admitted he is angry with the club’s current campaign and has been having sleepless nights, as per the reports on The Guardian. Fabregas and his teammates are languishing in 16th place in the Premier League table and he has admitted that his team’s season is ‘f****d’.

Jose Mourinho’s side stormed to the domestic title in the 2014/15 campaign after securing a total of 87 points which was enough to separate them from the closest title contenders Manchester City by 8 points. This season, though, it has been a different story for the English champions who have already suffered seven defeats in their opening 12 Premier League games and they sit just three points clear of the relegation zone.

The Portuguese manger’s position at the club is now being questioned and he is under enormous pressure to turn the club’s fortunes around. While the manager has taken responsibility for the club’s slump this season, several of his players including Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic and Fabregas have let him down on many occasions this term.

Chelsea have not had luck: Fabregas

The Spanish midfielder is well aware of his recent shortcomings and he believes the Blues’ season has been dismal in spite of some good performances on the pitch.

“The season is being f****d,” Fabregas said in an interview. “The results have not done justice to what we do on the pitch.

“We are doing things better, but we’ve had no luck. We have to start winning now.”

“Sometimes when I am at home, in bed, I wonder. You have your own thoughts and the manager will have his thoughts about what is going on and it is all about talking about things and putting this right altogether.”

Fabregas insists Mourinho deserves the support from the club

The West London club are set to face Norwich City on Saturday and the pressure mounts on Mourinho to get his side back to winning ways sooner rather than later. Ahead of the weekend’s Premier League match, Fabregas has spoken about his boss and has once again given his support, insisting that he ‘deserves it’.

Mourinho still has the support of the players at Chelsea

“I cannot support him more than I am doing,” the 28-year-old added.

“I am always saying he deserves it, 100%. We are not playing well, but that does not mean we are not in favour of the manager or something like that. We want the club to be at the top and, someone like Mourinho who is having difficult times and the players, then you have to support each other and give your best.”

Fabregas also pointed out that Chelsea had all to play for in the other competitions this season and that they had time to turn their league season around.

“It has been really difficult. For me, the manager and some other players, we have always been lucky enough to play for big teams. Always trying to get to the top and always be fighting for things. In the Champions League, we are still there.”

“The FA Cup has not even started yet so it is all about the League, trying to be as high as we can around Christmas because then it will be a very, very tough time.”
