Zinedine Zidane made huge changes for the second leg by not including Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Gareth Bale.
However, with Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez in the side, Real Madrid had the plan of playing on the counter.
The first half of the game was equally matched with both sides creating the similar amount of chances.
The second half started of perfectly for Real, with Cristiano Ronaldo heading in the 51st minute from a Vazquez cross.
Marco Verratti ruined the chances for his team when he received a second yellow for dissent.
However, Edinson Cavani pulled a goal back in the 71st minute to give PSG a ray of hope of staging a comeback with the scoreline 4-2 on aggregate still in favour of the away side.
But all hopes, of any comeback for the Parisiens, had vanished when Casemiro scored following a deflection of Marquinhos.
Real Madrid won the game 5-2 on aggregate ensuring a smooth progress to the quarterfinals whereas for Paris Saint Germain, it was a repeat of previous campaigns and once again they ended up coming short in the Champions League.

#5 An even first half
Despite the lack of chances created, it was a pretty equally contested first 45 minutes. Real Madrid possessed the greater threat going forward, especially on the counter-attack.
Kovacic was proving to be very rash and careless in his challenges and deservingly got a yellow card.
Meanwhile, two great chances were missed by players of either team.
First, Karim Benzema was put through one on one with Alphonse Areola but he was denied by the French goalkeeper.
However, the best opportunity for PSG to take the lead was late in the first half, when Kylian Mbappe squandered the chance to put the ball across to Cavani but instead selfishly took the shot upon himself from a tight angle which was eventually saved by Keylor Navas.
#4 Verratti gets sent off
Verratti's sending off was a huge blow for Paris Saint Germain.
He was having an impressive game defensively, making a total of four tackles and three blocked shots. His first yellow card was for a late challenge on Casemiro in the first half.
The second booking was for dissent when the referee made the decision against his side which left him enraged him and he vented his anger towards the official which resulted in him receiving a second yellow.
The red card was the culmination of a tough week for the Italian as his countryman, Davide Astori passed away tragically on Sunday morning and his team once again came up short in Europe.
#3 Real Madrid defence
The Los Blancos defence was up to the challenge they were going to face from the PSG attack.
They stayed in shape, keeping it tight and did not allow any room for the opposition. Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane did a great job of containing Edinson Cavani.
The duo made a total of 11 tackles and six clearances. But the star of the evening was Casemiro, not just defensively but also going forward.
He was solid in front of the back four and accumulated five tackles, three clearances and blocked two shots.
Even the fullbacks, Marcelo and Dani Carvajal played their part defensively making last ditch tackles and keeping Mbappe and Di Maria at bay with Carvajal recording a game-high five interceptions.
#2 Ronaldo can't stop scoring
Cristiano Ronaldo once again delivered on the big stage.
He scored his 12th goal of the Champions League season and for the eighth straight time as he headed in the cross provided by Vazquez following the recovery of the ball from Asensio.
He got himself into spaces and in scoring opportunities. He had a total of four shots, four key passes and completed three dribbles.
The Portuguese superstar once again delivered in a big game. He has now scored in his last six games in all competitions and his return to consistent goalscoring will once again prove to be the X-Factor in Real Madrid achieving success in the next round.
#1 Unai Emery bound to get the sack
Failure to deliver success in the UEFA Champions League may result in manager Unai Emery losing his job either imminently or at the end of the season.
Paris Saint Germain President Nasser Al-Khelafi had appointed Emery following his success in the Europa League, winning it three consecutive times with former club Sevilla.
However, Emery has not been able to replicate his success in Europe's elite competition.
Last season, PSG got eliminated in the quarterfinals following a shambolic 6-1 loss to Barcelona in the second leg despite leading 4-0 on aggregate.
This season, he has been unable to solve both the on-field and off the field issues. He has not been in total control of the dressing room.
The very first instance has to be with respect to the spot-kick duties, which caused a dispute between Neymar and Cavani. Another situation was when second choice goalkeeper Kevin Trapp voiced his concerns at a lack of playing time.
Instead of assigning the penalty duties to either Cavani or Neymar, the Spaniard decided to let the two superstars sort out their disagreement instead of taking charge and selecting a designated penalty taker.
The PSG manager has had a rough time managing and taking control over the big names of the club which has led to there being a divide within the squad.
