EPL 2017/18: Chelsea 0-0 Leicester City - Player Ratings

Chelsea v Leicester City - Premier League
Chelsea have now been held to three back to back goalless draws for the first time in the club's history

Chelsea have now gone more than 270 minutes without scoring a goal in all competitions. Leicester City dominated the game until Chilwell was sent off for his second-yellow offence. The Blues then dominated the game but couldn't find a way to score a goal.

The Foxes would look back and reflect on the chances that they missed in the game. It was theirs to win but somehow Leicester couldn't put the ball past Courtois.

Here are how the players faired in the game.

Leicester City

Schmeichel did good to keep the hosts from scoring

Kasper Schmeichel - 7/10

Schmeichel made some good saves to deny the hosts from scoring. He looked sharp throughout the game.

Daniel Amartey - 7/10

Amartey probably had his best performance as a right-back this afternoon. He was calm and composed at the back.

Alexander Dragovi? - 6/10

He had a mixed afternoon. He was poor in the first half but improved in the second half.

Harry Maguire - 8/10

An excellent display from Maguire at Stamford Bridge. He was physically strong and looked well when with the ball.

Ben Chilwell - 5/10

Chilwell turned up with a decent performance at Stamford Bridge until he was sent off rather harshly after receiving two yellow cards within five minutes.

Riyadh Mahrez - 8/10

Mahrez lit the Stamford Bridge up with his skills and pace. Chelsea defenders found it difficult to cope up with the Algerian.

Matty James - 7/10

James had a good afternoon until he limped off late in the second half. He read the game correctly and remained composed under pressure.

Wilfred Ndidi - 7/10

Ndidi was up against his former teammate, Kante. His distribution was very good in the game.

Marc Albrighton - 6/10

He was tough and made some great runs down the left flanks in the game. He lacked the decisive touch in the final third of the pitch though.

Shinji Okazaki - 7/10

He did all the running for the club. Be it going forward or tracking back to stop an attack.

Jamie Vardy - 7/10

He caused enough problems for the Chelsea defence with his pace. However, he could have worked on his finishing as that let him down.

Substitutes

Christian Fuchs - 6/10

Fuchs came on for Okazaki in the 73rd minute. He did well to make up for Chilwell's absence in the final quarter of the game.

Vicente Iborra - N/A

Iborra came on to replace a hobbling Matty James in the 90th minute.

Demarai Gray - 5/10

He came on in the final 10 minutes and didn't have much to offer.

A great effort from Courtois to deny Ndidi from scoring

Thibaut Courtois - 7/10

The Belgian once again had a great game and made a vital save to deny Ndidi from scoring. He has now kept 12 clean sheets so far in the league.

Cesar Azpilicueta - 6/10

He was busy the whole afternoon dealing with Mahrez and Vardy. He was able to keep up on most occasions. In attack, Azpilicueta's crosses let him down.

Gary Cahill - 5/10

The Chelsea captain was taken off in the 33rd minute due to a hamstring injury. While on the pitch, Vardy gave him a run for his money at the back. Cahill did manage to make some crucial clearances early in the game.

Antonio Rudiger - 5/10

His second start in this week, Rudiger once again didn't have a good game. He was slow for Mahrez, who had fun toying with him. Although, he did make a few clearances in the game.

Victor Moses - 6/10

Moses provided a lot of depth on the wings and managed to take some shots as well. However, he didn't quite actually influence the game as such.

N'Golo Kante - 7/10

Kante was all charged up today. He was making good tackles and was going forward as well. He did have a tough afternoon as he was up against Ndidi, who had a great game as well.

Cesc Fabregas - 6/10

The Spaniard didn't have a great afternoon. His passing was not up to the mark. He did manage to test Schmeichel in the first half of the game with a decent attempt on goal.

Tiemoue Bakayoko - 5/10

Another game but the same old story for Bakayoko. He didn't offer much when he had the ball though he did manage to break a few Leicester attacks.

Marcos Alonso - 6/10

Alonso left Mahrez unattended and the Algerian always found space between him and Rudiger. The Spaniard was quiet throughout the game.

Eden Hazard - 6/10

The fans were not happy with the Belgian today. He was good at the start of the game but couldn't manage to find that killer pass or through ball. Each time he gave the ball away, the fans booed at him.

Alvaro Morata - 4/10

Morata was not at all confident and he never really got in those shooting positions. It may already be the time for Conte to find a lethal striker that is actually able to test the keeper.

Substitutions

Andreas Christensen - 6/10

Christensen came on early for Cahill and the Danish international was once again solid at the back. He was able to deal with Mahrez better than Cahill.

Willian - 6/10

He looked as if he could give the host a goal but alas. He provided the spark that was missing in the game for Chelsea while going forward.

Pedro - 5/10

He came just before the hour mark but couldn't affect the game much.
