Manchester United Player Ratings

Jadon Sancho had a fantastic week!
Jadon Sancho had a fantastic week!

David de Gea - 7.5/10

The Spaniard pulled off two vital saves to keep United in the game.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 7/10

Hudson-Odoi gave him plenty of headaches but Wan-Bissaka stood firm and defended with aplomb. However, his silly studs-up challenge on Silva conceded the penalty.

Victor Lindelof - 7/10

The Swede looked shaky at the start but gradually found his feet.

Eric Bailly - 7/10

A fine display from the Ivorian in the absence of captain Harry Maguire, making six clearances.

Alex Telles - 6.5/10

He almost calamitously gave away a goal for Chelsea but improved thereafter and dealt with Ziyech well.

Scott McTominay - 6.5/10

Chelsea ran the rings around him in midfield during the opening exchanges but the Scotsman gradually settled into the contest.

Nemanja Matic - 7/10

He protected the back-four well and used his experience to come up trumps against his former club.

Fred - 6/10

The Brazilian was shaky on the ball in the opening stanza but put on an improved display after the break. However, he missed a golden opportunity to win it for United in the second half after Mendy's clearance came directly to him.

Bruno Fernandes - 5/10

This must be his worst outing of the season thus far. Fernandes made a dreadful pass for Hudson-Odoi in the first half that nearly resulted in a Chelsea goal. He also struggled to create anything of note.

Jadon Sancho - 7.5/10

He looked anonymous in the first half but hit Chelsea on the break to put United in front. Sancho scored his first Manchester United goal last Tuesday against Villarreal and now has a first Premier League goal too.

Marcus Rashford - 5/10

Rashford barely got a whiff of the ball in the opening stanza but looked dangerous on the counter in the second period.

Substitutes

Cristiano Ronaldo - 5/10

Him starting on the bench came as a real shocker, but the talismanic No.7 didn't produce anything of note after coming on either.

Jesse Lingard - N/A

The time was almost up when he came on.

Donny van de Beek - N/A

The Dutchman, too, came on only in the dying stages.
