Hit: Mason Mount (Chelsea)

When Chelsea went on a spending spree in the summer, raking in several new attacking talents, Mason Mount's place in the team appeared to be under threat. However, with another talismanic performance, the Englishman showed that he's worth his weight in gold.

Mount was superb throughout the game and was the biggest threat to West Ham on the night.

His set-piece delivery for Silva's opening goal was impeccable, perfectly finding the Brazilian amidst a sea of blue and red shirts. He also laid the most key passes on the night, with four.

Even though Mount hasn't scored for Chelsea since matchday three, his all-round contributions continue to make a difference and show how important he is to Lampard's plans.

Flop: Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United)

West Ham weren't particularly bad, but Aaron Cresswell's mistakes on the night make him an easy choice for a 'flop'.

The English left-back was directly responsible for two of Chelsea's goals. He first vacated the space inside the box for Silva to score. He then played Abraham onside for the Blues' second goal while the rest of the defense stepped ahead to lay the offside trap.

Cresswell, who was the hero for the Hammers last season when he scored the winner at Stamford Bridge, endured a nightmarish return to the ground.

Hit: Thiago Silva (Chelsea)

It's hard to believe that Thiago Silva is 36 if you only go by his performances. He rolled back the calendar once again on Monday with a vintage showing.

The veteran Brazilian might not don the captain's armband like he did at PSG, but his leadership qualities, as well as his composure on the ball, helped the Blues organize the backline with minimal difficulty.

Silva not only gave Chelsea the lead with a thumping header, but he also won 10 defensive aerial duels, while also making six clearances and completing 92% of his passes.
