Hello and welcome to the Chelsea news of the day! Here are the top stories of the day surrounding the Blues.

Brazilian defender David Luiz set to sign a new contract at Chelsea

The Brazilian centre back is expected to sign a new deal with the Blues. The news will come as a welcome boost to Chelsea after the UEFA banned them from signing any players for two transfer windows after infringements in signing youth players.

The 31-year old David Luiz joined the Blues in 2016 for his second spell with the club after moving PSG in 2014, 3 years after he made his Chelsea debut in 2011. The Brazilian international has so far over 225 appearances and more than 15 goals for the Blues.

Willian on Hazard's move to Real Madrid

With Zinedine Zidane returning back to Real Madrid and the Los Blancos utter disappointing season, Eden Hazard being linked to the Santiago Bernabeu has gradually gathered up the pace.

When Brazilian and Chelsea star Willian was asked about the proposed move, the winger said,

No doubt, he's focused here.
He's never said something about Real Madrid or stuff like this. He just wants to continue to play for Chelsea.

The Belgian whose contract expires in 2020 has many times expressed his desire to play for the Los Blancos and his admiration of Zinedine Zidane.

Forgotten Chelsea midfielder in AS Roma scouting list

Forgotten man Danny Drinkwater seems to have finally caught some attention with his former boss Claudio Ranieri looking to sign the midfielder for the Giallorossi.

The former Manchester United player and the one half of the brilliant midfield of the Leicester City Premier League winning side, Danny Drinkwater joined the Blues in 2017 joining his Leicester City partner at the Stamford Bridge.

Danny Drinkwater though has been a complete failure so far for the Blues with the England international ravaged by injuries and drop in form all combining in the midfielder making just 23 appearances for the Blues.
