Chelsea set to offer Matic a new contract who is linked with a move to Real Madrid

Nemanja Matic
Chelsea's Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic has been one of the club’s most consistent performers.

Nemanja Matic has been attracting interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, and to ward off any interest for the Serbian midfielder, Jose Mourinho will be offering him a new, lucrative deal, confirms Goal.

Since joining Chelsea back from Benfica in January, Matic has been one of Mourinho’s key player, and was Chelsea’s best performance during their away 1-2 win over Liverpool at Anfield., earning the man of the match award in the process.

“Mourinho is keen to reward the midfielder for his top-level performances over the past 10 months as well as ward off interest from Real Madrid, who Goal understands have been keeping tabs on the 26-year-old,” writes Goal’s Graeme Bailey.

Real Madrid were one of the clubs to rival Chelsea last year, but it was eventually Chelsea who were successful in securing the former Benfica star’s signature.

Matic has four years left on his contract and is currently valued at €26 million. He has started 11 matches in the Premier League for the Blues this season, bagging one goal and two assists.
