Chelsea on the hunt for Radamel Falcao or Gonzalo Higuaín

Fernando Torres scored two goals in Chelsea‘s 3-1 win over Sunderland, but it seemed a little late, as Marina Granovskaia, Roman Abramovich’s personal assistant, travelled to Madrid to discuss the possibilities of signing Radamel Falcao or Gonzalo Higuain by January.

Chelsea have also reportedly joined Arsenal in the hunt for Newcastle United striker Demba Ba.

It has also been reported that Granovskaia has been involved in a lot of deals for Chelsea over the past couple of days.

There were a lot of speculations on Granovskaia’s visit to Spain, including that Chelsea might consider Jose Mourinho for the manager’s job, but it looks least likely as Abramovich is still smarting over the £18m pay-off that Mourinho received, when he left the club in 2007.

Chelsea might find it difficult to sign the highly priced Falcao because of heavy competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City for the Atletico Madrid striker.

With Higuain struggling to get a regular place in Real Madrid, the chances of him moving to Chelsea appear brighter.
