Chelsea's Patrick Bamford too good for the Championship: Middlesborough manager Aitor Karanka

Chelsea’s Patrick Bamford was on loan at Middlesborough last season

As we see numerous strikers being linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, there is one current Chelsea player we all have our eyes on, wondering what is going to happen with him, and that's Patrick Bamford. Named as the Championship's Player of the Year last term after a fantastic season, Middlesborough Manager Aitor Karanka has revealed that the player will not spend another season in the Championship.

“I don’t think Patrick’s coming because he showed everybody last season that he can play in the Premier League and I am sure he has offers to play in the Premier League, he has offers to play in other countries because he is a very good player.” – Aitor Karanka

I personally would like to see Bamford in the Premier League with Chelsea but you have to consider exactly how many games he will play. Based on the fact he is at an age where you need regular first team football, a spell at the back of the dugout will not be good.

So I can imagine that someone like Bournemouth or Watford may come in for him towards the end of the window to take him on loan for the season. That would suit the player and the club because we get to see him play regularly to see if he could cut it at the top level.

Let's wait and see what happens here because as we know, he wants to play for Chelsea BUT does not want to sit on the bench!

What do you think of Patrick Bamford? Do you think he could cut it in the Premier League?
