Chelsea's 7-0 demolition of Norwich City on Saturday was the most clinical they've been in a while. They hit all the right notes in a devastating attacking performance at Stamford Bridge.

Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James gave the European champions a healthy 3-0 advantage at the break as the Canaries were no match for the Blues' press.

But more misery was to come Norwich's way after the break, as the home side put four more past them. Mount rounding off his first league hat-trick in stoppage time, while Ben Gibson seeing red added more misery to Norwich.

Aston Villa are the only side to have conceded over seven goals against a single opposition in the Premier League more than once. Chelsea surpassed their previous best to set a new one.

After starting the campaign brightly, the Blues went almost two months and seven league games without a win. During this turbulent period, Chelsea bowed out in the group stage of the Champions League.

Roberto Di Matteo was given the boot and in came the much-maligned Rafael Benitez, whose rebuilding project really kickstarted with this epic victory. The game featured seven Chelsea players on target, including Lampard.

#1 Chelsea 8-0 Wigan Athletic (May 2010)

Chelsea sealed the Premier League trophy in resounding fashion.
Chelsea sealed the Premier League trophy in resounding fashion.

Chelsea scored eight goals for the first time in a match almost two years before the Aston Villa win in 2012. It was the day they were also crowned Premier League champions for the third time.

In their final clash of the 2009-10 season, the Blues needed a win to confirm their name on the trophy ahead of Manchester United. Chelsea did so in style, knocking Wigan Athletic off the park in a clinical performance.

Nicolas Anelka broke the deadlock early on. But it was Gary Caldwell's red card around the half-hour mark that truly opened the floodgates. The Blues then struck five times after the break, with Didier Drogba completing his hat-trick.
