This game was Conte's first big test with Chelsea in the Champions League. It was away to Atletico Madrid in their new home ground, the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
It was Atletico Madrid who opened the scoring from the penalty spot after David Luiz pulled Lucas Hernandez inside the box. It was Antoine Griezmann who converted the penalty into a strike.
Chelsea responded well in the second half and the equalizer came from an Eden Hazard cross, which was converted by Alvaro Morata. It was again Batshuayi who come on as a substitute and won the game for the Premier League side.
The Blues won a free kick and instead of putting the ball into the box, they played short passes just for Batshuayi to script the winner.
Atletico's stubborn defence was opened up by Chelsea many times through the game.
