What’s the story?
Eden Hazard has rejected the new contract offered to him by Chelsea according to his father, Thierry Hazard. The Belgian is keen on joining Real Madrid and that is the only reason for the rejection added Thierry.
Speaking to Le Soir, Thierry said, "What I can reveal about Eden is that he refused a contract extension. This was so that, if necessary, he could follow the interest of Real, whom he could see himself playing for. But, as of right now, there is no contact from Real Madrid. Eden is only one of the parties involved in his future."

The heart of the matter
Chelsea are desperate to get Hazard to pen a new contract and are trying to negotiate a fair deal with the Belgian. The Blues have also gone on to reject claims of Hazard rejecting a new contract by saying that he is yet to be offered one formally.
Speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea's game vs Stoke City, Conte said, “I repeat, if you are in a great club and you trust in the club and the ambition of the club, I think it’s right to stay. The Premier League side are also in talks with Thibaut Courtois. The goalkeeper is also heading towards the end of his contract and is yet to sign a new one.
