Nathaniel Chalobah

The England U-21 International, on loan at Championship side Watford last season, played a stellar role in their race for promotion.

According to Chelsea legend and his previous year’s coach at Watford, Gianfranco Zola, Chalobah has a very bright future ahead of him for both Chelsea and England if he continues his stunning form from last year. His main assets are his speed of passing, agility and silken skills, which is surely going to be on show at Stamford Bridge in a few years time on a regular basis.

Lucas Piazon

The Brazilian wonder kid arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2011 from Sao Paolo and spent the later part of last season on loan at Malaga to gain some experience at a higher level. He didn’t disappoint, racking in nine appearances and creating two assists.

His creative influence, elegance, touch and vision has seen him dubbed as the ‘new Kaka’. He has been shipped out to Dutch side Vitesse this season and is poised to have a very bright future at Chelsea in the years to come.

Islam Feruz

Somali born Scottish international Islam Feruz arrived at Chelsea in 2011 from Celtic for a nominal fee of just 300,000 pounds.

Since then, he has been in superlative form in the U-18 and U-21 levels and was instrumental in their impressive run to the finals of the NextGen series last season. His remarkable rise to the top is proof enough that he is going to be a key member in the Blues’ first team in the foreseeable future.

Nathan Ake

Since moving from Feyenoord to West London in 2011, the former U-17 Dutch international’s tremendous performances for the youth and reserves side has seen him spend some time in the first team squad already.

His 6’1″ frame and remarkable strength makes him a real presence on the field but what makes him a special player is his technical ability. His current status as a member of the first team squad will give him a chance to learn a lot from the senior squad members and in a few years time can give them competition for a place in the starting eleven.

Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois, popularly known as “Timo” Courtois, is undoubtedly one of the brightest young talents in world football at this moment of time. This 1.99m long keeper is already a star and at just 20 years of age, is already considered to be the one the best goalkeepers in the world.

He has spent the last two seasons on loan at current Copa Del Rey holders Atlectico Madrid and his performances for the Andulusians have drawn comparisons to Dutch legend Edwig Van der Sar by pundits and fans alike. He is going to spend at least another season at the Vicente Calderon stadium as he has again been loaned there.

He is already the top choice between the sticks for his national side. To be honest, if not for Petr Cech, who himself is considered to be one of the very best goalkeepers in the world along with Iker Casillas and Gianlugi Buffon, Courtois would have already established himself in the Chelsea starting eleven. But in years to come, he looks set on giving Cech a tough competition for the Number 1 jersey at Stamford Bridge.

Along with the aforementioned players there are many youngsters in the Blues’ roster with bags of potential and in a few years time can really stack their claim in the first team. Players such as Gael Kakuta, Thorgan Hazard, Patrick Van Aanholt, Wallace, Jamal Blackman, Ulises Davila, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Cristian Cuevas, Oriol Romeu, Josh McEachran looks all set to push for first team places in the near future.

The revolution that began when Abramovich took over Chelsea has undergone a evolution of its own and has all the potential to take the world of football by storm all over again in the very near future.
