We are just a few days away from the commencement of the transfer season in January. Chelsea have been under the limelight for quite some time given Maurizio Sarri's intentions to bring new players on board. The Blues have also been linked with moves for a fair number of players but only time can tell which of those actually stand out to be true.

That being said, let's have a look at what the rumour mill has churned out about Chelsea today.

#1 Chelsea's transfer plan for Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata's future at Chelsea has come under limelight given his lackadaisical displays for the Blues. The Spaniard has been tipped to switch clubs in January with a view to resuscitating his career.

However, Chelsea are unsure whether they will be able to recoup the price they paid to bring Morata to the Stamford Bridge. They need the striker to be in form so that they can get adequate returns on his sale.

As suggested by El Gol Digital, the Blues are planning to loan Morata out in January in a bid to help him regain his lost confidence and form in the summer. Further, they intend to sell him after he finds enough form in the summer next year.

Morata has netted only 7 goals this season, with Atletico Madrid and Sevilla being touted as possible loan destinations for the Spaniard.

#2 Chelsea suffer blow in Denis Suarez chase

Chelsea were reportedly interested in signing Barcelona outcast Denis Suarez in January. However, as El Gol Digital reports, the Blues have suffered a setback in their chase for the Spaniard.

Suarez has already been guaranteed a first-team place by Valencia manager Marcelino, with whom he previously worked with during his loan spell at Villareal in season 2015/16.

Suarez has played only five games in all competitions this season for the Catalans. His current contract with Barcelona expires in 2020.

#3 Antonio Rudiger in no rush to extend his stay

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has revealed that he is in no rush to sign a new contract at the Stamford Bridge.

The German, who signed from Roma in 2017, had lost his first-team place under Antonio Conte. However, he has cemented his place in the starting XI under Maurizio Sarri this season.

The Londoners are keen to tie down as many players to new deals as possible, fearing a transfer ban from Fifa for breaking rules in signings of youngsters.

Speaking on his future at the club, Rudiger said:

"That's not the case. I think there is also no need. I still have three-and-a-half years (on my current contract) to go.

"I like it here, but there is no speaking between me and the club. It is not necessary at the moment."

"I am trying to do my best, improve day by day, game by game. That's what I'm all about. Of course this season is going well for me personally, but there is always space to improve."
