Thibaut Courtois may move to Real Madrid in the summer

Chelsea are in the thick of things for the past month or so. Be it their struggling form, Antonio Conte's power struggle with the board or the club's transfer targets, Chelsea have always been in the news since the turn of the year.

Despite the winter window's conclusion, Chelsea are reportedly still active in the transfer market with the future of their manager and a number of their superstars still being under the shadows of uncertainty. On that note, let's take a look at all the latest transfer news and rumours involving Chelsea Football Club which made headlines on February 6th, 2018:

Thibaut Courtois' replacement identified

The Belgian custodian has been linked with a move back to Spain for quite some time now. The rumours about him eyeing a move to Real Madrid have gathered pace with the Spanish giants looking actively to rope in a keeper next season. Thibaut Courtois is allegedly one of the goalkeepers on their list, which has got Chelsea worried.

The Sun reports that the Blues have offered a new deal to Courtois which will make him the highest paid keeper in the world. But the management is unsure whether the custodian will renew his contract and have hence, made a contingency plan in case Courtois decides to shift loyalties.

According to the same report, Joe Hart is the name identified by the Chelsea board, as they think can fill in for the Belgian. Hart is currently on loan at West Ham United from Manchester City and has one year left on his current City contract.

He was on loan at Torino last season, and has failed to retain the no.1 spot for the Hammers this season, with Adrian being prioritized. But, it is believed that City won't come in the way of Hart if Chelsea come calling in the summer.

Italy concede defeat to bring back Antonio Conte

Not interested in re-joining the Italian national side

The Italian FA have conceded defeat in their pursuit to bring back Antonio Conte for his second spell as the Italy boss. Chelsea's manager has denied that he is in the running for the Italy hot seat and has conveyed the same to the country's top brass.

Vice Commissioner of the Italian Football Federation, Alessandro Costacurta was quoted as saying by Evening Standard, “Antonio Conte has pulled out. As Conte reiterated the other day, he wants to continue working as a coach on a day-by-day basis at club level for at least the next 18 months, the length of his Chelsea contract, so he has pulled out of the running.”

Italy have given the reigns of the national team to the country's U-21 team manager, Luigi di Biagio who is set to manage the Azzuri for next month's friendlies against England and Argentina. Meanwhile, Conte is eager to complete his contract with Chelsea and has asked for a vote of confidence from the Chelsea ownership.

Alvaro Morata emerges as a shock target for Paris Saint-Germain

Chelsea v Arsenal - Carabao Cup Semi-Final: First Leg
A summer target for PSG

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has been linked with a shock move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Daily Mirror. The former Real Madrid forward started his stint at Stamford Bridge brightly, netting eight goals in as many games at the start of the season.

Though a bad patch and a string of injuries have slowed down his first season in the Premier League, his progress as a top club's no.1 striker has not gone unnoticed. PSG have reportedly been impressed by Morata's ability to lead the line and are looking for a summer scoop for the Spanish hitman.

Chelsea will look to avoid the Diego Costa situation next summer as they do not have any intentions to sell the Spaniard who joined in last summer for a whopping sum of £60 million. But the market has been acting rather strangely this season, which makes this rumour one to keep an eye on, as the summer transfer market approaches.
