Chelsea transfer news: Dortmund starlet Pulisic on Blues' radar, Conte ready to fight for Asensio and more - 21 February 2018
Christian Pulisic is wanted by Chelsea and Bayern Munich
According to a report in Daily Mail, Chelsea are chasing Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard.
The £88m American, who is on the radar of Liverpool and Bayern Munich as well, made his Bundesliga debut in 2016 and is now a key player for the German side.
The 19-year-old is one of the brightest prospects in world football because of his electric pace and passing ability.
Liverpool failed with an offer for Pulisic, who has only had four goals and three assists this season. However, the Blues will face the biggest competition for the teen star from Bayern as they prepare to lose Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
However, Chelsea are considering using Michy Batshuayi to fend off competition as Dortmund are already plotting a permanent move for the 24-year-old Belgian, who joined them on loan last month.
Thibaut Courtois uncertain of his Chelsea future
There have been reports that Chelsea are trying to convince Thibaut Courtois to sign a five-year contract extension by offering an improvement on his current £100,00-a-week, which would make him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world.
However, according to the ESPN, the goalkeeper has said that his agent would take a call after talking to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Courtois, who has just one year left on his current deal, is expected to replace Keylor Navas at Santiago Bernabéu by the end of the season.
The 25-year-old's ex-girlfriend lives in Madrid with their two children and the former Atletico goalkeeper considers the Spanish capital as his home and wants a return to be with his family.
"I have to look at what is best for me. Chelsea have put their trust in me from the first day of my career, and that is not forgotten. I am good here too. We will have to see what happens over the season and how things go with Chelsea," Courtois said after Tuesday's 1-1 Champions League draw at home to Barcelona.
Marco Asensio has offers from Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool
According to The Sun, Real Madrid star Marco Asensio has revealed that he has received offers to join five clubs, including Premier League sides Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
The 22-year-old is frustrated because he has struggled for regular first-team starts under Zinedine Zidane.
Asensio has made 20 La Liga appearances but most have come off the bench but netted twice in the 5-3 win over Real Betis on Sunday.
He also inspired the Spanish Club's Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain last week.
Asensio is contracted with Los Blancos until 2023 and has a massive £621m release clause.
Bayern Munich and Juventus are the other two clubs, who are trying to lure Asensio away from the Spanish capital.
