Chelsea v Huddersfield Town - Premier League
Morata staying in London looks very unlikely

Chelsea have been swift prior to the opening of the transfer window as the Board has already drawn up a list of their targets for players and managers alike. They have been linked with top quality players from Europe, which will certainly excite the fans.

The Blues rebuilding process must start soon as attracting big signings to the club will also help in their stars such as Eden Hazard potentially staying at Stamford Bridge as their aim will be to reach the summit of English football next season.

On that note, here are the top transfer stories of the day pertaining to Chelsea:

Chelsea enter the race for Martial

Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United - Premier League
Martial has become unsettled at United

According to the Metro UK, Chelsea have emerged as the latest contenders to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has become unhappy due to the limited opportunities he has received under Jose Mourinho, especially during the second half of the season.

Following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, Martial has lost his position on the left wing to the Chilean, being in and out of the team for the past two months. The 22 year old was signed for £36 million in 2015 by former manager Louis Van Gaal and scored a goal on his debut against Liverpool.

This season he has been able to contribute with just 12 goals and seven assists in all competitions and has just one year left on his contract. This is the perfect chance for Chelsea to exploit on Martial's situation at United and make a push to bring him in as he provides versatility in the attacking half of the pitch.

Isco snubs Chelsea move

Real Madrid v Manchester United: UEFA Super Cup
Isco's future in Madrid is uncertain

Chelsea have suffered a major blow in the pursuit of one of their transfer targets. As per the reports of the Daily Star, Real Madrid ace Isco has rejected a potential move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Chelsea finished fifth in the Premier League and failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, which has led to him straight away rejecting an offer from the West London club.

Isco has been linked with a move away from Madrid. this season which has alerted several clubs as they will be targetting a move for the Spanish International. The Blues could have prospered with the addition of Isco, who has thrived under Zinedine Zidane in the last one year fending off competition from the likes of Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

Now that the Spaniard has made his decision final, Chelsea will have to look elsewhere in the transfer window in their search for top quality players.

Chelsea reject offer for Batshuayi

Batshuayi was loaned out to Dortmund in January

As per the reports of The Mirror, Chelsea have rejected an offer from Borussia Dortmund to make Michy Batshuayi's loan deal permanent. The Belgian's loan deal is set to expire at the end of the season but his current deal at Stamford Bridge runs until 2021.

Batshuayi had an impactful loan spell in Germany, scoring nine goals in 14 appearances for Dortmund after being loaned out during the second half of the season making way for the arrival of Olivier Giroud.

Instead, Chelsea are willing to sell Alvaro Morata to Dortmund amid interest from Juventus. Morata has endured a difficult first season in England, especially after his return from injury in the first half of the season as he has squandered multiple goalscoring opportunities and cost the Blues a huge number of points in the league.

Batshuayi was never given a fair chance by Antonio Conte as he would always start as a substitute but his impactful performances off the bench were also not enough to convince Conte. Chelsea would like to strike a substantial deal from the sale of Morata as they would be eyeing to recoup the huge sum they paid for the Spaniard last summer in order to make a progress in the upcoming transfer window.
