Chelsea Transfer Rumour: Cesc Fabregas interested in Real Madrid move

Cesc Fabregas was an unused sub in the victory against West Ham

Chelsea emerged victorious against West Ham 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Diego Costa which gave a much-needed victory for the Blues in Antonio Conte's first game in charge. One of the talking points that emerged from the first game was of Conte's decision to leave Cesc Fabregas on the bench when he was expected to start against the Hammers. This decision has sparked rumours that Fabregas does not seem to have a future under the new manager and is looking for a move in the coming days.

Spanish publication, Sport has revealed that Fabregas' representatives have made contact with Real Madrid over a possible deal for the 29-year-old. It is reported that the Spaniard favours a move back to the La Liga as his two season period at Chelsea wasn't as fruitful as was expected from him. Fabregas did perform splendidly in his first season, winning the league, but was disappointing as the London club finished tenth in the table last time around.

With Conte favouring Nemanja Matic and N'golo Kante to start the first game of the season, it is being reported that the Italian is happy to let Fabregas leave this summer. But when asked about Fabregas' omission, Conte said, "Cesc is Chelsea’s player and I’m happy with his attitude and behaviour. He must know when you are at a great team like Chelsea I have to take decisions before the game, to choose a starting 11."

Conte was expected to make decisions in his first campaign and he has started his tough methods as he further said, "It can happen that Fabregas isn’t in the starting 11 but it can happen to all the players. It’s important to always see the right attitude because we must fight this season.

“Now, I took this decision but in the next game we don’t know, I could change or not. When a coach makes a decision there is always a reason but I prefer to keep it for me. But I repeat I don’t see any problem, I’m very happy to have these players and train these players."

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid are interested in a move for Fabregas as the Spanish Giants have enough cover in midfield and don't seem to need another deep-lying creative midfielder. Juventus too seem to be interested in the Spaniard who has a deal with the blues till 2019 as they are seeking for Paul Pogba's replacement. The Bianconeri were interested in Nemanja Matic but the blues are confident of keeping him at the club.
