What's the story?

As reported by Globo, Brazilian talisman Neymar showed another instance of his lack in temperament, this time hauling down Selecao youngster Weverton for nutmegging him during practice for the Brazilian national team.

In case you didn't know...

Neymar was recently stripped of the captaincy of the Brazilian squad ahead of June's Copa America 2019 with the armband going to his Paris Saint Germain team-mate Dani Alves. Brazil manager Tite was apparently forced to make the decision following a series of disciplinary incidents from the mercurial 27-year-old winger.

This month, Neymar was banned for three matches by the French Ligue 1 authorities after he struck a fan after PSG's defeat at the hands of Rennes in the Coupe de France final. He was also allegedly involved in a dressing room fight with some PSG team-mates.

The attacker was also handed a 3-match Champions League ban after his social media comments on the referee following Paris Saint-Germain's round of 16 defeat to Manchester United

The heart of the matter

19-year-old right-back Weverton of Brazilian club Cruzeiro is not officially part of Brazil's Copa America 2019 squad. But the youngster was selected to train with the first team to gain valuable experience.

In a training video shared by Globo's official Twitter handles, Weverton expertly nutmegs an onrushing Neymar but the PSG man reacts childlishly, hauling down the youngster by pulling on his bib.

It has also been reported that Neymar was forced to leave training yesterday after discomfort to his right knee, with Brazil eagerly awaiting news on whether their talisman will be fit in time for the Copa America.

What's next?

Brazil will face Qatar and Honduras on June 5 and 9th respectively, in preparatory friendlies. For the Copa America 2019, the Selecao are drawn in Group A along with Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru. Their first match is against Bolivia on 14th June, which will also be the first match of the tournament.
