Sevilla

Sergio Rico
Sergio Rico made a series of outstanding saves

Sergio Rico – 8.5/10

The Spanish shot-stopper made some vital blocks and incredible reflex saves to keep his side in the game for the better part of 120 minutes. Couldn’t do much for either goals, but pulled off some blinders.

Mariano – 6.5/10

Was solid on the right-hand side of defence and kept Neymar at bay. The Brazilian did not have much impact on the game offensively but made up for it with some vital blocks and clearances.

Adil Rami – 7/10

Rami enjoyed a good game at the heart of Sevilla’s defence and put in a dominating performance. The Frenchman, however, was guilty of putting in a horrible challenge on Neymar, which led to his booking.

Daniel Carrico – 7/10

The Portuguese kept Suarez at bay for most parts of the game and also didn’t afford Messi the space to wreck havoc. Carrico was guilty of being overly enthusiastic in his challenge which led to his first booking, and lost his cool to eventually get sent off.

Sergio Escudero – 6.5/10

The full-back was hardly troubled by Barcelona and had a field day after Rafinha replaced Suarez to play on the right-hand side of attack.

Grzegorz Krychowiak – 7/10

The Polish international covered every blade of grass to make himself available to his teammates. The Arsenal target put in a composed performance shielding the back four, while also forcing the Barcelona players to commit errors.

Ever Banega
Ever Banega was sent off for a last-man tackle on Neymar

Ever Banega – 5/10

Was denied by an excellent stop by Ter Stegen in the first half and continued to trouble the Barcelona players with his skill and set-piece deliveries. Titled the tide in Barcelona’s favour after getting sent off for a last-man tackle on Neymar.

Coke – 6/10

The hero of the Europa League final, put in another gritty performance and was relentless on the right-hand side of Sevilla’s attack. Failed to get past Alba to cause enough problems to the Barcelona back line.

Iborra – 7/10

The Spaniard caused trouble to Barcelona’s defence with his physicality and put in a brilliant shift defensively. He flicked the ball through to Gameiro, which eventually led to Mascherano’s sending off.

Vitolo – 6.5/10

Was relentless down the left flank, but failed to have the impact he would have hoped for. The Spaniard caused some problems for the Barcelona defenders with his running and directness.

Kevin Gameiro – 7.5/10

He was Sevilla’s most potent weapon and kept the Barcelona defenders on their toes due to his incredible pace. The Frenchman was a constant threat, but failed to find the back of the net to provide his side the opener, which they so desperately needed.

Substitutes

Yevhen Konoplayanka – 5.5/10

The Ukranian was subdued after replacing Mariano in the 80th minute. Didn’t have the impact that Unai Emery would have expected from the winger.

Fernando Llorente – N/A

The former Athletic Bilbao striker came on to replace Iborra as Sevilla threw the kitchen sink at Barcelona, but didn’t have enough time to make a telling impact on the game.
