Cristiano Ronaldo's vote for Ballon D'Or revealed

RCD Mallorca v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

Cristiano Ronaldo wishes he could vote for himself to win the Ballon D’Or.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has said he would vote for himself to win the Ballon D’Or, if given an opportunity to do so.

The winger will be eligible to vote for the Ballon D’Or as the current captain of Portugal, but will not be allowed to vote for himself as FIFA rules prohibit the same.

Which has not stopped Ronaldo from some wishful thinking. “If I could, I’d vote for myself,” he told France Football.

And he says this is not due to him being arrogant, as his critics have long argued. “I am what I am and I’m happy with that; being too humble isn’t good. In Portugal we say that too much humility is vanity.”

He has also rubbished rumors of financial reasons being the reason for his recent claims of unhappiness at Real Madrid.

He said, “I play for the passion of football, and for the love of the teams I represent. If I was playing for money, I’d be at another club.”

“All players love it when teams like Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United or Chelsea dream about them, but that’s not in my thoughts.”
