What's the story?

Manchester City defender Danilo, who has played under Zinedine Zidane in Real Madrid and Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, has provided his insight into the differences between the two title-winning managers.

In case you didn't know...

The Brazil international has won titles with both managers. He won the Champions League with Zidane twice before moving to the Premier League in 2017 to win the domestic title with Guardiola.

While Real Madrid has just won their third consecutive Champions League title last year, the Premier League winners are yet to make an appearance in the final of Europe's top competition.

Los Blancos have come out with a victory in the first leg of their last-16 fixture against Ajax but Manchester City is yet to play their opening leg against Bundesliga side Schalke.

The heart of the matter

The Brazilian has now explained the key differences between the two managerial legends in an interview with the Mirror.

When asked who has mastered his craft better, Danilo replied,

"Of course they are very different, first they are all top coaches and it's impossible to compare the two.
"For me, I am very happy to have had the opportunity to work with them. Pep's attention to details is second to none, Zidane what he has achieved for himself is unbelievable so for me it's really hard to say if this is better or not.

He added,

"I am just as happy to be with Guardiola now as I was with working with Zidane in the past."

What's next?

Guardiola's Manchester City currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, level on points with Liverpool. The side will face Schalke in the first leg of their last-16 fixture tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, Zidane's former club Real Madrid sit in third place in LaLiga after losing points to Girona over the weekend.
