Leicester City v Watford - Premier League
Mahrez is desperate to leave

So here we go! It is Deadline Day—the last day for clubs to buy and sell before the summer transfer window opens. But worry not, I will still continue providing you with transfer news after today but it's just that today is a bit different from the rest. So, ready?

#5 Newcastle

Now, this would be a famous signing should Newcastle really pull it off. After all, this is a club that requires quality players—and could they ask for anybody better than a Real Madrid player?

According to AS, Marcos Llorente is being targeted by Newcastle United as Rafa Benitez wants the Spaniard on loan at the club. Llorente hasn’t played a lot this season. So far, he has only featured in 760 minutes, distributed in 13 games.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport understands that Islam Slimani is set to join Newcastle on loan, despite his injury concerns. West Ham were also another club interested in him. Also, Daily Mail claims that a loan for Martin Dubravka has been agreed by Newcastle and Sparta Prague.

#4 West Ham and Crystal Palace

Turkey v Croatia - Group D: UEFA Euro 2016
Tufan is seen as a replacement for Loftus-Cheek

Speaking of West Ham, the club seems to be pretty busy on the Deadline Day. Sky Sports reports that West Ham have made a loan offer for Ibrahim Amadou of Lille. The Londoners are willing to pay £2 million in loan fees and want to add a £14 million clause to buy him in the summer.

Meanwhile, according to Daily Mail’s live blog (31st January, 09.17), Ozan Tufan is being targeted by Crystal Palace as Ruben Loftus-Cheek is injured and they deem Tufan as a replacement.

Roy Hodgson’s outfit has also been linked with moves for Jordan Hugill of Preston (who is rated at £10 million by his club) and FC Midtjylland’s Alexander Sorloth, according to Evening Standard.

#3 Arsenal and Everton

Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund - UEFA Champions League
Auba has finally left Dortmund

Arsenal have completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but the truth is that the deal might not have been as straightforward as we think. The thing is, they needed to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and for that to happen, Dortmund needed to sign a replacement.

Which is where this report from Standard comes in. According to the report, Arsenal wanted Aubameyang so bad that they have agreed to pay Chelsea the loan fee for Michy Batshuayi so that the Belgian can join Borussia Dortmund on loan, which in turn allowed Auba to join the Gunners.

Meanwhile, according to Express Sport, Riyad Mahrez wants to leave Leicester City and wants to join Arsenal after Manchester City pulled out of the race to sign him.

#2 Chelsea

Manchester City v Bristol City - Carabao Cup Semi-Final: First Leg
Mangala could be surplus now

Chelsea are another club that is highly active today on Deadline Day as they need a striker to be a proper backup to Alvaro Morata. After all, they have been linked with a host of strikers and hence, not signing anyone at all would be a shame.

And now, Goal.com believes that Chelsea have agreed an £18 million fee for Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, who Arsenal want to sell after acquiring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports claims that Everton want to sign Eliaquam Mangala on loan as the Etihad outfit have signed Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Club and have a surplus of defenders.

#1 Manchester madness

Real Madrid v Numancia - Copa Del Rey
Isco has been linked with Man City before

Well, what did you think? That the final day of the window will put and end to the madness? Well, madness never ends.

According to Don Balon, the chief connoisseurs of this madness, Manchester City are willing to pay 125 million for the former Malaga player. The Spaniard hasn’t played as much as he would have liked, with Spain coach Julen Loptegui also stating his dissatisfaction with it, and could move in order to get more playing time.

Meanwhile, Inter defender Milan Skriniar is a man in demand. With Real Madrid and Barcelona being linked to him, The Sun believes that Manchester United have also joined the race to sign the highly-rated defender.
