Chelsea handed Arsenal a strong 2-0 defeat on Tuesday in the Capital One Cup with goals for the Blues coming from Cesare Azpilicueta (25th minute) and Juan Mata (66th minute) at the Emirates Stadium.
Jose Mourinho made 10 changes to the squad that won against Manchester City as Gary Cahill was the only player retained for the game while Arsene Wenger made 8 changes and played a second string squad.
Wenger said, “I think it was a very tight game that was decided by one or two mistakes.
“We were a bit naive in some situations. We gave them a chance to counter-attack when we went 1-0 down and we didn’t create many chances ourselves.”
He added, “We have to respond well against Liverpool on Saturday because we are in a strong position in the league
