PSG winger Angel Di Maria has stated that he will not celebrate if he scores against his former club, Real Madrid. The Argentine winger comes face to face with his former club for the first time on the pitch since leaving them.

"If I ever score a goal I won't celebrate because, deep in my heart, I'll never forget what I experienced at Real," he told in an interview to French TV channel Canal +.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain are set to face each other in a Champions League Group A match, at Parc des Princes in Paris on Wednesday. This will be the first time that Di Maria will face his former club, since his move to Manchester United.

The Argentine winger moved from Real Madrid to Manchester United in a deal worth £59.7million, during the 2014 summer transfer window. His initial days with the Red Devils were completely in accordance with what everyone expected.

But ultimately he failed to match the intensity and physicality of the Premier League and as a result was not given much of playing time by Louis Van Gaal. Di Maria then decided to move to PSG, as the Paris based club paid £44 million for the winger.

The lanky winger has already scored 3 goals for the Paris club so far. Whereas he managed only 4 goals with Manchester United in the whole season. The Les Rouge-et-Bleu have had a sudden rise to prominence in European football since 2011, when Qatar Sports Investments became the majority shareholder of the club.

Di Maria believes that this can be PSG’s year in the Champions League, and that he can help his club emulate the journey he made with Real Madrid in 2014, where he was named man of the match when Real defeated city rivals Atletico 4-1 in the final to win the La Decima.

Real Madrid and PSG are yet to lose a game this season with both teams heading their respective league tables at the moment. In two weeks time, PSG will travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for the reverse fixture.

When asked about how he would feel when he lines up against his former club at the stadium he loved playing in, Di Maria said, "I don't know how the fans are going to react, I left in the best possible way by winning the 10th Champions League title. I always showed my affection and for the last match they gave me a nice ovation. It'll be good for me to play at the Bernabeu again."
