The Brazilian-born Spanish striker has a reputation for being rough and menacing on the pitch. But in all honesty, the big mean Spaniard seems to be a real softie after he posted a picture of him relaxing with his pet dog “Bella”, a gorgeous labrador retriever in his pool at the Surrey mansion.

Costa seemed like a jubilant man in the pictures posted on his Instagram as he looked in high spirits hugging his dog in the pool. Even Bella seemed quite happy with her master with a grin on her face enjoying her time in the pool.

Bella might not be aware of his antics on the football pitch but no defender in the league would want to be sharing the pool with the big man. But at least we know that he treats his pets with utmost care, unlike his opposition team defenders.

The 28-year-old Chelsea football club striker and Spain international did not really have a big part to play in the Blue’s 4-0 hammering of Manchester United last week. But he surely has been impressive in the Premier League so far this season scoring seven times in nine league games.

Chelsea were a shadow of themselves last season as the London club suffered consistent defeats in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho which eventually led to his sacking by Roman Abramovich and a 10th place finish for the Blues.

Amidst the chaos at the bridge, Diego Costa was the target for the critics as he failed to emulate his goal scoring form from the 2014-15 Premier League season.

The big Spanish striker was reportedly involved in a scuffle with the current club manager Antonio Conte after the game against Leicester City earlier this month. Spanish daily Marca reported that the 28-year-old striker told the Italian that, if he does not like his style of play, then he should just "get rid of him."

Towards the second half of the clash between the Blues and the Foxes, Costa was seen gesturing towards the bench demanding to be subbed off. But Chelsea FC immediately rubbished the claim of any arguments or scuffle between Diego Costa and Antonio Conte.

After blowing away Manchester United and Jose Mourinho last week, Diego Costa and his teammates will be looking to continue their good run of form as they take on West Ham United in the EFL Cup on Thursday.
