Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero is untroubled by reports linking his side’s star assets with moves away from the club, insisting that both Diego Costa and Koke will be at the club at the close of the transfer window. Costa has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Arsenal, whilst Manchester United are known to be long term admirers of Koke, but Caminero told Marca that Costa is “hooked” on Atletico and that Koke will be at the club for “many years.”

“The player has a clause of 38 millions euros and the big clubs in England know this,” he said when questioned on interest in Costa.

“Diego Costa has matured and is smart when it comes to decision making.”

“Right now, Costa does not think of leaving, he is hooked on Atletico. He has re-signed a deal that is important, I am confident he will continue with us.”

Caminero also remains confident that Koke will resist the allure of a move to Old Trafford.

“I’m not surprised with this subject.”

“He is a player who has improved considerably. It has also made it into the Spain squad and that puts you in the spotlight and opens more eyes.”

“Koke will be with us for many years. I am convinced.”

Between them, Costa and Koke have scored 49% of Atletico’s goals this season and created 36% of their chances.
