Drunk Manchester United fan calls Manchester Police after cup loss to Sunderland

Manchester United v Sunderland - Capital One Cup Semi-Final: Second Leg

Manchester United lost the Capital One Cup semi-final to Sunderland in the penalty shootout.

Like it wasn’t enough that Manchester United are losing on the pitch, the fans too seem to be losing. Losing their heads that is!

After Manchester United got dumped out of the Capital One Cup by Sunderland thanks to a horrendous show in the penalty shootout in which only Darren Fletcher scored for the Premier League champions, a fan decided that he had seen enough and made an emergency 999 call to Greater Manchester Police(GMP) demanding that he be allowed to speak to former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson right away about United’s performance against Sunderland!

While GMP have not revealed the identity of the caller, they have acknowledged receiving such a call and asked people to be responsible while making 999 calls.

Listen to a recording of the conversation below:

The GMP have also suggested, sarcastically, we hope, that should fans of the club feel the need to call Sir Alex in the future, they would be better off dialing the club directly as that would give them a better chance of probably speaking to the Scotsman.

The only winners here seem to be the alcohol companies!
