Will Dybala go on to join Messi at Barcelona?

The gifted Argentinian forward Paolo Dybala has suggested he would like to play with Lionel Messi after a Barcelona representative was in the stands to watch the Argentinian striker net the solitary goal in Sunday’s win over Roma.

The 22-year-old has shone since joining from Palermo, having scored 8 goals in his last 10 appearances. An integral part of the revival in Juve’s fortunes, Dybala was watched by the Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez during the win over Roma during the weekend where he scored the decisive goal.

"To tell the truth, I did not know there were people of Barcelona in the stands," Dybala said.

"It makes me happy that things are going well for me and the team and we are going to show that we are able to give more in the future."

Dybala who already has three caps for his country is yet to feature alongside Messi in the same team. When asked by reporters if he would like to come up against his countryman, Dybala replied, “No, I have a desire to play with Messi.“

Dybala who initially endured a tricky start to his debut season at Juventus has soon become a regular and looks like he belongs to the big stage. Popping up at vital moments with silken skills or clinical finishing, Dybala has shown why there was so much fuss about him when he was bought in the summer transfer window.

The prospect of two brilliant left footed Argentinians in the same team is definitely a mouth watering one and Barcelona fans will be hoping Dybala and Messi will team up in the near future.

Dybala can be a future Ballon d’Or contender: Veron

When asked by reporters whether Dybala and Neymar can go on to be as great as Messi or Ronaldo, the former Manchester United and Inter Milan midfielder Veron said,

"The talent is there, then it depends on continuity, the victories, the trophies.” "Messi is Messi, but it would be nice if, after Leo, there was another Argentinean to dominate. He should be left alone, but I have great hope for Dybala.”

"He should not be loaded with too many expectations or pressures but not everyone can go to Juventus so young at Juventus and immediately bring goals."

With praise coming in from all corners, The 22-year-old forward will be really looking to light up the footballing world in the future.
