East Bengal leave Tolgay’s fate uncertain after announcement

East Bengal striker Tolgay Ozbey’s fate is still in dilemma as the cold war between the Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan continues. East Bengal has made it very clear that if any team wants Tolgay, then that team has to appeal to the club. Otherwise, Tolgay will remain as East Bengal’s player.

This decision was taken by the East Bengal officials last Tuesday, after having back to back meetings at the club premises. It was widely assumed that after imposing some rules and regulations, East Bengal will leave Togay. But East Bengal official Mr. Debabrata Sarkar made it clear in his statement that if any team wants to make a deal with this Aussie striker, at first they have to make an appeal to East Bengal, as in the last meeting of Indian Football Association (IFA), president Mr. Utpal Ganguly clearly told that still Tolagay is East Bengal’s player. In case of an appeal, the club officials will discuss it with coach Morgan in a meeting, and after that Tolgay can make some move.

After hearing these comments from East Bengal, Mohun Bagan secretary Mr. Anjan Mitra has made it clear that they will not appeal to any team. They will follow the decision of IFA. He also told that no one can impose new rules overtaking IFA.
