Kolkata giant East Bengal is going to sign their fourth foreigner Andrew Barisic in the second transfer window, which will open on January 15. According to the latest report, this 26 years old Aussie striker will come to Kolkata today and he will start practicing with the team from tomorrow. His first I-League match will probably be East Bengal vs Churchill Brothers, which will take place on January 19.

After former Aussie striker Tolgay Ozbey left the club before the start of this season, East Bengal coach, Trevor James Morgan, was not happy regarding the fourth foreigner issue. Though he was very much eager to sign a fourth foreigner, but because of the shortage of funds and also not getting the green signal from the club officials, he was quite angry over the officials.

The Red & Gold brigade now have three important foreigners. In defence Uga Okpara, in midfield Pen Orji and Chidi Edeh in the forward line-up. When Barisic will be available after his signing, it will be difficult for the East Bengal’s British coach to choose the right pair. As Chidi is a bit inconsistent with scoring goals, it might be possible that Morgan will replace Barisic in place of Chidi.

Meanwhile, before coming to Kolkata, this former ‘Arema Indonesia’ player is quite excited to prove himself in the Indian soil. While giving an interview to a website he quoted, “…can’t wait anymore, looking forward to prove myself in India. I have heard that Tolgay scored a lot of goals for East Bengal and fulfilled fans expectation. I also want to do that.”
