Poor Rotherham. The Millers' last run in the Championship ended with them finishing with a record low points tally of 23, and if their first game of the season is anything to go by, it doesn't look like they are going to have much luck this time around either.

Brentford took the lead through Neal Malpay in the fourth minute and would double that through Sergi Canos before half-time. Ollie Watkins would add a third just after the break before Maupay would add another in the sixtieth minute. Lewis Macleod would then cement Rotherham's misery with a fifth in the dying moments.

The Millers did manage to snatch a goal back through Will Vaulks in stoppage time, but that was little more than a consolation.

Brentford are considered outsiders for a promotion push this season, but it looks as though The Bees will have to cope without Ryan Woods this year. The former Shrewsbury midfielder was left out of the squad on Saturday, with Swansea rumoured to be signing him before the transfer window closes next week.
