EPL transfer window hustle - Part 2

The Premier League transfer window will contain all the dramas as always. With just two months to go before the season ends, most premier league teams will look to end on a high. Here’s a look at what you can expect from the Premier league teams in the summer transfer window.

1. Liverpool

Liverpool have been brilliant in cup competitions this year but it really has been another disappointing league campaign. Europa league qualification is certain but Liverpool fans will be far from proud with the performance levels of the new signings. The summer transfer window could be busy for Liverpool negotiators and it has been predicted that Liverpool would buy more players than any other team in the premier league.

Transfer Targets :

1. Mauricio Isla (Udinese Calcio):

" Versatility at its best"

The Chilean International is everything a Premier League club needs. Isla can play on both sides as a winger and a full back. He is also capable at Centre midfield. He could bring in some much needed pace to Liverpool. His crossing abilities and concentration levels have been much appreciated in Serie A. He is only 23 and can only improve. 15 million Euros and he could be a full fledged Red.

2. Marko Marin (Werder Bremen)

" Anfield could be treated to the skills of the "German Messi""

The German attacking midfielder has been the stuff of dreams for Liverpool fans. This dream could be true if Liverpool are able to prise him away from many Serie A clubs. Marko Marin possesses fine dribbling skills and his ability to create chances could be influential for Liverpool’s lacklustre attack. Marko Marin is already reported to be disillusioned in Werder Bremen for underachieving.

Other targets:

Seydou Doumbia ( CSKA Moscow), Guiseppe Rossi( Villareal CF), Ricky Ricky Van Wolfswinkel( Sporting Lisbon)

2. Manchester City:

It has been a revelation of sorts Mancini’s troops this season. With an impressive home record Man City are looking for their maiden Premier league trophy. Everything but European form has worked for City. They are just a point adrift Man United and will look to become even stronger especially in Europe to satisfy Their owners’s lofty ambitions.

Transfer Targets :

1. Eden Hazard( LOSC Lille):

" A flag bearer for the rise of the Blue Moon?"

Pipped to be the future best player in the world, Eden Hazard is already a star in the French League. His craftiness is the work of a sorcerer. He is a curse in disguise for defenders in France. If Man City add Hazard it could well be the beginning of the player’s entry into the big league. Man city will dominate the Premier league and be a key force in the Champions league if the Belgian enters the fray. With Mancini repeatedly sending scouts to France tracking his progress he could be a Man City players within weeks of the summer transfer window.

2. Robin Van Persie(Arsenal):

" Could this bond be broken by Man city's ambitions?"

” We dont need Batman , We already have Robin”. The quote really signifies his role in Arsenal’s turnaround this season. His 26 goals has established him has one of the best in Europe. Mancini has already made public his intentions to get RVP to the Etihad. Van Persie’s contract is up this season and with negotiations only starting, there is a 50-50 chance that he might be in City colours next season.

Other transfer targets

Gonzalo Higuain ( Real Madrid CF), Javi Martinez( Athlethic Bilbao), Javi Garcia ( Benfica)

3.Manchester United

The record league winning champions have had a surprisingly quiet season. Three finals in the last four years in the Champions league was followed by a disastrous exit in the group stages this season. Early exits from The FA cup, Carling cup followed by a overwhelming loss to Athlethic Bilbao in the Europa league has left Man United with only the Premier league. They have however taken full advantage of this situation and are currently sitting on a long unbeaten run in the Premier league. They are top again and it could well be a 20th title. Next season however will have to be better and to do so Man United need to strengthen an injury depleted squad.

Transfer targets

1. Eden Hazard(LOSC Lille):

" No 7 for Belgium and Man United?"

Man United stalwart Sir Alex personally flew down to France to look at Eden Hazard. It is clear that Hazard is top priority at Old Trafford. He is young and could become the best in the world in a club that has produced magical wingers like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham. Hazard was flattered by Sir Alex’s arrival and went on to say that he would like to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Man United fans are already speculating him to don the legendary #7 jersey which has already propelled the likes of Beckham, Ronaldo, Cantona to career highs.

2. Nicolas Gaitan(Benfica S.A.D)

"Will this never ending saga end?"

The Benfica winger has now been linked to Man United for one year. With his release clause at 40 Million euros, there was serious doubt that he would be in Man United. But recently it was heard that Bengica would consider a 25 million bid too. Gaitan is skillful to say the least. He along with Javi Garcia and Oscar cardozo have made Benfica Portugal’s dominant force again. Gaitan has already admitted that his dream move would be Man United. Will this saga end in disappointment for both the player and the club or will it be another great signing for Sir Alex and the Red Devils?

Other Targets

Jan Vertonghen (Ajax Amsterdam), Javi Martinez (Athlethic Bilbao), Javi Garcia ( Benfica)

4. Newcastle United

Newcastle United have been looking only upwards since they got promoted. They are ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Alan Pardew must be given credit. His signings of Demba Ba, Yohann Cabaye and now Papiss Demba Cisse has put them in contention for Europe next season. They will however need a lot more firepower next year in order to continuously compete in the ever competitive Barclays Premier League.

Transfer Targets :

1. Romain Amalfitano ( Reims)

"Another Cabaye and Ben Arfa?"

Amalfitano is less known player in Europe but is a star in France’s second division. The younger brother of Morgan who plies his trade in Marseille, Romain is as skillful with the ball as his brother. Newcastle could unearth another exciting talent from france after Ben Arfa and Cabaye.

2. James Tomkins(West Ham United):

The N-Power league strikers have faced the wrath of Tomkins many a times. He is a disciplined Centre Back and has good reading and interception abilities. " Mariappa could don the same yellow jersey next year but with Norwich City"

The voracious centre back has had an excellent season in the N-Power league with the Hornets. Norwich have already started planning their action plan next year and Mariappa could well be the key. Wigan are the favourites to sign Mariappa but with their survival chances in disarray, Norwich could well be the club to sign the 25 year old.

2.Ryan Bennett(Peterborough):

Bennett has emerged as one of the Championship’s most promising defenders. The England Under 21 star has been scouted by the Canaries and Swansea.
